I was so honored to collaborate and perform with the Voices Unheard ensemble this past summer. Not only was it so fulfilling to perform with an ensemble of women on a program of music composed by women, it was also a meaningful experience to be a commissioned composer for a grassroots project.
Brandon was a thoughtful and organized leader of this endeavor, working tirelessly to organize a schedule for rehearsing and performing, as well as arranging newly discovered pieces to be played by the ensemble. Brandon and I kept in touch throughout the compositional process, and he provided valuable insight into musical elements and techniques that would be effective for an ensemble of wind instruments. He fostered an environment of camaraderie and consideration that was palpable among both the ensemble and audience.
It was such a wonderful experience to be a part of this project this year, and I am excited to see Brandon continue to pursue his creative ideas!

I had the most wonderful time working with the Voices Unheard Ensemble. As someone whose musical roots began in concert band, I have long been an advocate for women's voices in wind music. Having the opportunity to work with an ensemble that is dedicated to this mission was a dream come true.
Brandon is an excellent communicator and leader. His commitment to artistry was made clear by the thoughtful questions he asked about my work, and I truly appreciated the amount of time he spent making sure our visions for the piece were aligned. The members of the ensemble were a delight to work with, and I really enjoyed getting to know them at the rehearsals and performance.
I am so grateful to have been a part of this project this year, and I look forward to seeing how it grows over time!
